A birthday in Montmartre, on Place du Tertre.

At the top of Paris, with the Sacré-Cœur across the way.

A long table set for a birthday upstairs at Chez Eugène, Montmartre

The place

A birthday restaurant in Montmartre: upstairs, the terrace, or the whole house

From 10 to 40 guests, one long table on the ground floor, in the middle of the bistro, or the upstairs room to yourselves from 30 guests, with its windows onto Place du Tertre. March to October, the terrace takes up to 100 people standing, between the painters' easels. And for big crowds we combine everything: 135 guests at most, in the 18th, three minutes from the Sacré-Cœur. Want to see it before you choose? Drop in for a glass, we'll show you around.

The cake

Bring the cake, we have the candles

You bring your cake, we keep it cool, bring it out at the right moment with the candles and cut the slices. If you would rather the kitchen took care of it, say so when you book. Your own bottles are welcome too, with a corkage fee.

The wine

800 bottles to mark the occasion

A birthday often calls for a bottle you don't open every day. In Chez Eugène's cellar, the highest in Paris, there's what it takes: a vintage that matches the year, a grower we love talking about, a magnum to pass around. Julie chooses with you, to your taste and your budget.

The cellar

With family

A family birthday in Montmartre, children included

A grandmother's birthday lunch, a family meal across three generations: weekday lunchtimes, the upstairs room has the view to itself and the square is quiet. Children get something simple without being asked twice, the ground floor and the terrace are wheelchair accessible, and the funicular saves you the stairs.

Evening

After 10pm, Place du Tertre is yours

The neighbouring restaurants close, the painters pack up, and the square becomes your courtyard. We stay open until 2am, open one last bottle, and the party rarely ends when planned.

The terrace at night

A word from Julie

Thirty, forty, or simply a good excuse to get everyone in one room: we lay a long table upstairs with the square below, or leave you the terrace among the painters. The menu is written with you, the wines are picked for what your guests like, and if you bring the cake, we take care of the candles.
